Dr Gus specialises in the conservative management of musculoskeletal pain, including back pain. He has a special interest in Sports medicine and holds qualifications in General Practice, Osteopathic Medicine, Pain Medicine, Sports Medicine and MSK ultrasound diagnostics/interventions.
He holds a special interest in combining treatment modalities such as manual-osteopathic approach combined with allopathic medical pain management and minimally invasive procedures that include image-guided injections with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), steroids, high volume injections and hydro-dissection. Dr Gus’s special interests extend to treating MSK pain including uncommon pathology such as peripheral nerve entrapments.
Before coming to Dubai Dr Gus worked in private practice as MSK/Sports medicine physician as well as an osteopath in Marbella, Málaga and Madrid (Spain). Furthermore, he was the Medical Director of the Andalusian and Spanish Karate federations for over 10 years. He holds multiple qualifications in sports medicine, pain medicine, MSK ultrasound, and osteopathy. He enjoys lecturing internationally on MSK pain management as associate faculty of the University of Montpellier (France) Interventional Pain Medicine Diploma in Seoul, Korea. In addition, he also enjoys collaborating as a sports physician for major sporting events such as the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) held in Turkmenistan last September. Always as a student, Dr Gus continues to hunger for further learning opportunities and was delighted to be accepted into the 2018 Sports Medicine diploma sponsored by the International Olympic Committee.
