UPANDRUNNING is proud to continue its association with the Johnson Arabia Dubai Creek Striders Half Marathon as an event sponsor for 2018.
This year our team led by Dr Ramzy Ross, Head of High Performance & Health Sciences will be on hand to demonstrate blood lactate threshold testing and to educate the runners on why endurance athletes (from runners, cyclists, obstacle course competitors and more) would hugely benefit from accurately measuring, and using, physiological data to better structure training approaches and increase the chances of achieving goals.
Run specialist physiotherapist Jeelna Ruparelia & Sports Therapist Jennifer Makin will be on hand to treat runners experiencing post-race injury symptoms. Jeelna will also provide run clinic assessment demonstrations where she will digitally assess running technique, cadence, biomechanics and any injuries that the runners are carrying.
Women’s specialist physiotherapist Jade Lucus-Read will address the injury concerns of female athletes with an emphasis on safe exercise during pregnancy/return to exercise postnatal.
Chiropractor, Paul Cheung, DC (Dr of Chiropractic), has worked with high-performance team sports in professional football, Formula 1, Olympics, World Games and ocean rowing, and continues to do so. He is well-qualified to deliver deep muscle work where it is needed (kneaded!) and appropriate joint manipulations to optimise a runners biomechanical function and overall wellbeing. Paul will also address post race back pain concerns.
The UPANDRUNNING tent includes treatment stations, taping bay, and a foam rolling area. We wish all runners the very best for the Johnson Arabia Dubai Creek Striders Half Marathon and invite you to meet the team on the morning of 7th December 2018.
