Integrative Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (IOMT) Series UPANDRUNNING is excited to welcome Dr Sean Flannagan and Dr Rachel Grubb to teach their IOMT series at our Medical centre during 2019/20\. This series of workshops can be done individually or in their entirety to earn the attendee PGCert in IOMT on completion.
Workshops will include spinal manipulation, non-thrust mobilisation, and manual neuromuscular re-education techniques all delivered within the context of understanding the relevance and importance of the emerging pain sciences literature.
|1. Correctly perform comprehensive assessments for the Spine, Upper and Lower quadrants.|
|2. Present differential diagnoses based on clinical assessment for the case scenario.|
|3. Clinically reason the use of manipulations in relation to the patient presentation.|
|4. Safely demonstrate the manipulation techniques taught within the workshop.|
|5. Correctly show neuromuscular re-education using PNF and other facilitatory interventions.|
Dr. Sean Flannagan graduated from A.T. Still University in 2001 and is the founder of One Accord Physical Therapy in Arizona (est. 2004). Since 2009 he has been teaching spinal manipulation and dry needling within the U.S. and since 2010 has taught and facilitated an ongoing free long-term spinal manipulation and manual therapy training group in Phoenix, AZ. He continues to practice daily and has a special interest in the use of manual therapy and prescriptive exercise in the treatment and management of neuromusculoskeletal spine pain and headaches.
Dr. Rachel Grubb practices outpatient orthopedics in Chattanooga, TN where she received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2010\. She has developed various treatment approaches for smaller therapists vs the larger patient and is a credentialed Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. Dr. Grubb has been very active in the Tennessee and South Carolina chapters for the American Physical Therapy Association and has been a strong proponent of professional advocacy. She has volunteered extensively in promotion of the physical therapy profession by serving in various leadership roles.
