Dr Maria is a renowned pediatric cardiologist dedicated to providing exceptional care to children with heart conditions. With a passion for pediatric cardiology, Maria completed her medical training at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden and gained her residency in pediatrics from The Swedish national board of Health and Welfare. She further specialized in pediatric cardiology through a fellowship at The Swedish national board of Health and Welfare, where she developed her experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of heart conditions in children.
Maria’s experience spans 30 years holding positions as the head of Stockholm Pediatric Heart Center at Karolinska University Hospital and Pediatric Cardiologist at Sheikh Khalifa Women and Children hospital in Ajman. She treats all children, from tiny premature 400gm to young adults with different heart problems up to the age of 18 years. Maria is also passionate about pediatric cardiac screening, enabling early diagnosis of heart defects and arrhythmias to help prevent sudden cardiac death but also help children train and exercise safely.
Known for her compassionate approach to patient care, always putting the needs of her young patients and their families first. Maria believes in a collaborative approach to treatment, working closely with other physicians and disciplines to ensure the best possible outcomes for her patients.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr Maria is actively involved in research and education, striving to advance the field of pediatric cardiology and train the next generation of healthcare professionals. She has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and presents her work at national and international conferences.
